Across the road they are building 3 new houses, they demolished the old house there, you can see this in my previous blog, the land cost 60,000,000 yen, the piling work cost 4,000,000 yen, all expensive stuff in Tokyo.
The piles drilled down 6m at a diameter of 400mm, the hole was then filled with concrete and a 6 meter steel tube pushed down the center. Why I find this interesting is after the quakes in Christchurch the DBH propose foundation work, I have never seen it done before but it sure is expensive work!
