M4.7 quake jolts Kanto region; no tsunami alert issued
TOKYO —
A quake with a magnitude of 4.7 struck the Kanto region at 7:53 a.m. Friday. The quake jolted Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, Saitama, Kanagawa, Chiba and Tokyo where it registered a 3.The Japan Meteorological Agency said the quake’s epicenter was was in the southern part of Ibaraki Prefecture at a depth of 50 kilometers.
No tsunami warning was issued and there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage to buildings.
